OCYSA To Host USSF Referee Certification Course the Weekend of July 31 thru August 2, in LaGrange.

Interested in becoming a paid certified soccer referee?  OCYSA will be hosting a USSF Referee Certification Course over the July 31-August 2 weekend at the LaGrange Community Center.  There is a $55 course fee.

89 Kentucky Teams Compete in the 2009 Kohl’s American Cup Hosted by OCYSA in June

The 2009 Kohl’s American Cup was a great experience for all teams competing in the tournament and another successful event for host OCYSA.   Proceeds from hosting the event will go to the OCYSA Green Fields Fund to finance future field and facility improvement projects. 

Thanks to all the volunteers from the OCYSA Family (Recreational, Legends, and Thoroughbreds) that gave their time in supporting the event. 

The Kohl's American Cup is the premier spring recreational event in the state of Kentucky.  The tournament is open to any properly registered and formed Kentucky Youth Soccer recreational team, mixed or girls, aged U10-U16.

OCYSA Creates Green Fields Fund to Finance Field and Facility Improvement Projects.

OCYSA has created the Green Fields Fund to finance future field and facility improvement projects.  OCYSA allotted an initial $20,000 into the fund generated from past fundraising efforts.   Moving forward, proceeds from all OCYSA  fundraising efforts (Concessions, Derby Cup, Kohl’s Cup, etc.) will be deposited in the fund.  In addition, all donations, gifts, sponsorships, and grants committed to the field improvement effort will be added to the fund.  Any person, group, or business interested in donating to the Green Field Fund should contact any member of the OCYSA Board

Field and Facility Improvement Project Update:

New Fields:  Excavation is currently underway on the first soccer fields being developed in the new park area located adjacent to the OCYSA Soccer Complex.  The Thoroughbreds Soccer Club, is spearheading this initial effort in developing the fields.  Special project support is being donated by Roederer Farm and Whittenberg ConstructionInitial financing comes from funds generated by the Taste of Thoroughbreds event.   

Closed Fields:  There are currently no closed fields.

Handyman List:  A “Handyman” list of maintenance projects has been developed by OCYSA identifying facility items needing repair.  If you have “handyman” skills and are able to volunteer some time, please check the list (see link on this page) for projects you may be interested in completing.  OCYSA will pay for all materials.

Oldham County Fiscal Court Grants Field Development Rights to OCYSA and Thoroughbred Soccer Club

The Oldham County Fiscal Court granted development rights to OCYSA and the Thoroughbred Soccer Club to build several new soccer fields on the 54 acre tract of county property adjacent to the current OCYSA Soccer Complex.   Please contact Steve Bryant, OCYSA VP of Fields and Facilities or  Rock Thompson, President of Thoroughbreds SC, if you would like to assist with the development of the new fields, as well as, improvements to current facilities.    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
