Record 184 Teams Enjoy 2008 Derby Cup The 2008 Derby Cup was a huge success with a record 184 teams participating in the event. The Derby Cup is the major annual fund raiser for partners OCYSA and Thoroughbreds Soccer Club (TSC) and both organizations would like to thank all the participating teams for playing in the tournament and hope to see them back again next year. A special thanks goes to all the OCYSA and . TSC volunteers that worked so hard in making the event such a success. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Select Soccer Tryouts in June Tryouts for Thoroughbred Soccer Club and Legends 2008-2009 select soccer teams will be held in June. Email Tracy. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Jack Banbury Named Kohl’s Cup Tournament Director. Volunteers Needed to Help Support the Event. OCYSA has named Jack Banbury to be Tournament Director for the 2008 Kohl’s Cup. The state recreational tournament will be hosted by OCYSA on June 7 & 8 and June 14 & 15 (if required). This is the second year in a row for OCYSA to host the event. Volunteers are needed to assist with the event. Please support OCYSA by contacting Betsy Lowe to sign-up to volunteer. We need your help! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fall 2008 Recreational Soccer Registration Begins In May. Please look for more information soon. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ OCYSA Game Cancellation Policy In general, soccer is played in rainy weather conditions as long as the fields are safe and it is determined that playing on them will not seriously damage them. However, games will be delayed or cancelled if lightning, thunder or other threatening weather is in the area. Game delays are announced on the fields by referees and parents are required to remove their children from the fields immediately and wait in their cars for further news.
Your coach or team manager will be notified of game cancellations through the Arbiter online system. They will then notify parents.
