Recreational Soccer

Oldham Soccer Club recreational programs provide all interested children the opportunity to participate in and enjoy the game of soccer without regard for athletic ability or family income, up to the limits of Oldham Soccer Club to accommodate them.  Team formation is by blind draw with no player tryouts.  There are two recreational seasons a year, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Each level of recreational soccer programming includes an age specific training curriculum that follows US Youth Soccer player training and development guidelines.   In addition, all players are offered the opportunity to gain advanced supplemental soccer training through specialized programs offered by Oldham Soccer Club.

FAQ   Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Recreational Programs and Registration

Little Kicks Club Under Age 5 and Under Age 6 Program

The Little Kicks Club introduces children, ages 3 through 6 to soccer.  The focus of Little Kicks is FUN, using simple kid’s games to expose children and their parents to the basic fundamentals of soccer.  With Little Kicks-“the game is the teacher.”  Each Little Kicks session follows a practice and play format on two game fields using a “3 on 3″ or a “4 on 4″ team structure to maximize the playing time of all children and increase their opportunity for ball “touches”.  Little Kicks play on Saturdays with some Sunday or weeknight games.

Under Age 8 and Under Age 10 House Leagues
Fun, instructional leagues that play an 8 game schedule at the OSC Soccer Complex on Saturdays with some Sunday or weeknight games.  U8 teams play "5 on 5", including a goalie, and practice once per week.  U10 teams play "6 on 6", including goalie, and practice up to two times per week.    U8 and U10 teams play in a in-house post season round-robin festival.  U10 teams may elect to play in the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association postseason recreational tournament for an additional fee.  Both boys and girls teams are formed.  Participation awards are presented to all players at the end of each season.

Under Age 12, Under Age 14, & High School Travel Leagues

Teams play at least 4 games at the OSC Soccer Complex and 4 games at sites around the Louisville area.  U12 teams play "8 on 8", U14 teams play "11 on 11", and High School teams play "8 on 8", including goalies.  Games are played on Saturday and some Sundays, with two practices during the week.  Teams may compete in the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association postseason recreational tournament for an additional fee.  Both single gender and mixed gender teams are formed at U12 and U14 depending on player numbers.  High School teams are mixed.  Participation awards are presented to all players at the end of each season.

Oldham Soccer Club Under Age 8 Academy
Advanced player development program that provides interested U8 players a higher level of individual skill training.  The sessions meet one or two times a week and train in an academy format directed by professional trainers.  The program is designed to allow players to play on a recreational soccer team and attend the advanced training.
